The grade 7 students at Fox Creek School have been learning about many of the Canadian battles and wars of our past in Social Studies. ‘The War of 1812 was a conflict fought between the United States and the United Kingdom from June 1812 to February 1815. Historians in Britain often see it as a minor theatre of the Napoleonic Wars; historians in the United States and Canada see it as a war in its own right.’ (Wikipedia)

Students played and competed with each other on a board game taking the America, First Nations or Canadian side respectively. Using strategy, tactics, reasoning and prediction students played the game to try and defeat their opponent taking over the territory. Students played in a round robin tournament trying to outsmart each other for the win! The tournament was from January 22- January 28. Prizes were won that represented Canada and the United States! The following students were the top four winners (in no special order) were Brock Hudson, Bo LaChance, Brandon Taylor and Nicole Molina.
